You've been hearing a lot of information about the border at Sonoyita / Lukeville. Yesterday they set up a filter and were turning back tourists as per the orders of the Sonora State Governor.
After protests and dismay by the government and people of Puerto Peñasco the order has been recinded and the border is once again open to tourists.
You may once again go to Rocky Point. You still need to have a valid reservation.
Happy travels. Now they just need to open the Ocean Water.
Please, if you go, exercise social distancing, wear masks in public, etc. People need tourism but they are also frightened. Regardless of your opinion on whether masks are needed or not, wear them to help the townspeople get more comfortable with tourists. These restrictions won't last forever.
